(Danville, Va.) – There were no injuries in an early morning house fire in Danville.

The first units responded about 3 a.m. to 465 Southland Drive, where they found heavy fire showing from the attic of the house. All occupants got out safely and firefighters mounted an interior attack.

The fire originated in the garage and extended into the home, which sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

Two occupants were forced out of their home and will be staying with family members.

Five engines, a ladder truck, and the fire marshal responded with 23 personnel.

The fire was reported as under control by 4:30 but units were on scene for approximately four hours.
