Three people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Henry County on Tuesday. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Narcotic Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop after observing a GMC SUV traveling southbound on U.S. 220. 

The vehicle was driven by Darol Meeks, who was known to have multiple warrants for revocation of a suspended sentence. Deputies initiated the stop at the intersection of U.S. 220 and AL Philpott Highway where contact was made with Meeks. Carol White and Mary Bein were also in the vehicle.

During the stop, deputies found us currency, along with a digital scale and packaging materials commonly used in the distribution of illegal narcotics. Deputies also located multiple suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. Field testing indicated the presence of methamphetamine and fentanyl. 

Meeks was arrested on three counts of probation violation, possession with the intent to sell meth, and possession with the intent to sell fentanyl. 36-year-old Carol White was arrested on two counts of possession and 44-year-old Mary Bein was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm.
