One person has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Henry County on Monday. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday at 9:30 pm, Charles Edward Mills, 19, turned himself in to deputies in connection with the shooting that occurred at the Dollar General located at 3874 Stones Dairy Road in Bassett.

Mills has been charged with two counts of malicious wounding, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and attempted robbery. He is currently being held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.

The shooting, which took place in the parking lot on the side of the building away from the main shopping entrance, resulted in two individuals being struck by gunfire. Evidence collected during the investigation indicates that gunfire was exchanged between the two victims and another suspect or suspects.
