Average gas prices across Virginia increased by three cents this week compared to last week to $2.96 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country remained the same at $3.13 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville increased by a penny to $2.81, while the average price in Pittsylvania County remained the same at $2.86 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by a penny to $2.73 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is also down by a penny this week to $2.81. Prices in Halifax County fell by nine cents this week to $2.78 a gallon.
