Average gas prices across Virginia are up by a penny this week compared to last week to $2.98 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by a penny as well to $3.18 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville is down by four cents this week to $2.80, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is down by a penny this week to $2.88 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by two cents this week to $2.76 a gallon and in Henry County the average price remained the same this week at $2.84. Prices in Halifax County are up by a penny this week to $2.95 a gallon.
