Average gas prices across Virginia climbed by 22 cents to start the week at $4.17 a gallon, according to AAA, while the average price of gas across the county rose by 34 cents this week to $4.45.

The average price of gas in Danville jumped up by 22 cents this week to $4.04, while the average in Pittsylvania County is up by 24 cents this week to $4.16 a gallon. The average price in Martinsville is up by a nickel this week to $4.01 a gallon and in Henry County the average price rose by 13 cents to $4.05 a gallon. The average price in Halifax County climbed by 31 cents this week to $4.21 a gallon.
