12 people were arrested in a drug bust in Halifax County earlier this week. Sheriff Fred S. Clark stated that the arrests stemmed from a joint operation over the weekend that was organized by the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic & Gang Task Force.
Clark stated that the operation began on November 10th and continued through the weekend. 12 subjects were arrested on outstanding drug charges and pro-active law enforcement. In addition 13 more subjects were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Officers also seized suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, suspected cocaine and firearms throughout the operation. Additional charges are pending. Agencies participation in the operation were the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force, Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department, Halifax Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
