GILES COUNTY, Va. – The woman charged with abducting a toddler from his church daycare center in Giles County appeared in court Thursday for her preliminary hearing.

Nancy Fridley faces two felony charges for after authorities say she snatched the two-year-old and fled.

Several witnesses testified Thursday, including the boy’s mother. She said since eh incident, her son has been struggling with certain behaviors. Daycare workers say Fridley appearance came to the door of the church and asked for the boy. Once outside, they said she picked up the toddler and ran to her car.

The boy was found unharmed the following day, at the end of a massive statewide search.

The judge certified both felony charges for grand jury consideration in January.
