RINGGOLD, Va. – Morgan Olson has donated a $175,000 emergency response vehicle to Pittsylvania County as a way to thank local rescue workers for keeping their employees safe.

The company presented county leaders with the keys to a new air utility vehicle Wednesday.

This will add a second air unit to the county’s fleet of vehicles; Pittsylvania County already has one that services the northern end of the county.

The van will allow for mobile refilling of air tanks when first responders are dispatched for long calls.

Public Safety Director Chris Slemp said another response vehicle was needed to service the state’s largest county. He said the additional unit will permit crews to refill air tanks to “support our volunteer fire departments during large fires and could even be an asset to the City of Danville Fire Department and other neighboring localities in a large-scale emergency.”
