
Today, the Danville-Pittsylvania Regional Industrial Facility Authority entered into an agreement to sell land at the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill to a company connected to data centers. SAC III Acquisition Co., LLC, is planning to purchase “Track HK”, and the option to purchase those certain parcels or portions known as Lots “AB, CDE, FG, J AND 10” and Lots “The Harrison Place” and “Oak Hill” (collectively, the “Project Site”), in connection with a local performance agreement.
The first phase of the project will be a minimum of 1,000 acres that will be sold to the company at $238k per acre. In total the project will be 2,990 acres valued at $737.8 million .
The first phase of the project has to be completed by June 9, 2027, while the total project has a current deadline of June 9, 2031. In total the project is expected to create 2,050 jobs over 30 years.
SAC III Acquisition Company is an affiliate of Stack Infrastructure, a company that is a developer and operator of data centers. They currently have eight data center locations across the United States.
