
One person was killed and four others were injured during a shooting in Danville on Saturday night. According to the Danville Police Department, at 11:36 pm, officers responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in the 700 block of Arlington Rd.
Once on scene, officers found one victim lying in a driveway in the 700 block of Arlington Rd suffering from a gunshot wound. That individual was provided lifesaving medical efforts and transported to SOVAH Danville emergency room where he was later pronounced dead from his wounds.
He was identified as 34-year-old Christopher Darnell Moore of Danville.
As police responded to the 700 block of Arlington Rd, four more individuals arrived at SOVAH Danville emergency room by personal vehicles suffering from gunshots wounds.
The initial investigation found that a large gathering was occurring at a residence in the 700 block of Arlington Rd before multiple shots were fired and all individuals were struck by gunfire at the same location.
The victims who arrived by personal vehicle were all provided treatment for what appear to be non-life-threatening wounds. The victims included a 48-year-old male, a 33-year-old male, a 25-year-old female, and an 18-year-old female, all of them are from Danville.
The Danville Police Department is asking anyone with surveillance cameras in the Druid Hills community around Arlington Road or who may have information on this incident to please contact the agency by either calling 911 or patrol at 434-799-6510.
