A former juvenile detention home employee in Danville pled guilty on Thursday for an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile. 42-year-old Wendy Warren pled guilty to two counts of  Taking indecent liberties with child by person in custodial or supervisory relationship and one count of  Carnal knowledge of certain minors.

Warren was arrested on February 23 after a report was received on February 10th about the possible inappropriate relationship. Warren was then fired on February 12.

An investigation revealed that between August 2022 and July 2023 employee Warren engaged in non-forcible sexual contact with a then 15-year-old male who was in custody at the W.W. Moore, Jr. Juvenile Detention Home. Warren had been employed there as a youth care worker for nine years.

Warren will be sentenced on May 19th and is facing up to 15 years in prison.
