
A man that was wanted in connection to a homicide in Halifax County has turned himself in. The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office says Lucas Markee Witcher turned himself in at 2 pm on Wednesday at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
Witcher is currently being held without bond. He was wanted following a homicide that occurred on Sunday at 2 am in the northern part of Halifax County.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by North Halifax EMS and airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Witcher has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Anyone with additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 434-476-3339.
