A Danville man has been sentenced to life in prison plus eight years for a 2023 murder. Omar Chandler was sentenced for the murder of Randy Womack.

On May 14, 2023, the Danville Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of Hughes Street. Upon arrival officers found Womack with multiple injuries from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Chandler was charged with first degree murder, use of the firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
