The Danville Police Department and Virginia State Police are investigating a traffic crash that resulted in a fatality on Wednesday.

At 7:09 pm, officers responded to the 1900 block of Goodyear Boulevard and found a vehicle driven by Caleb Lane Durham, 26,  had struck a vehicle driven by Michael Anthony Carter, 52, which caused Carter’s vehicle to leave the highway.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. Both were transported from the scene. Carter later died as a result of his injuries. Durham is in stable condition.
