The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking input from residents on two local roads. VDOT has posted a survey on potential transportation safety, operations, transportation demand management, and bicycle/pedestrian/transit improvements along U.S. 41 (Franklin Tpke.) between Orphanage Rd. and north of Hunting Hills Rd. in Pittsylvania County.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the safety and operational issues identified along the U.S. 41 corridor between Orphanage Road and north of Hunting Hills Road, with a focus on providing safety improvements and enhanced bicycle, pedestrian, and transit access. VDOT is also seeking feedback from Danville residents on potential transportation safety, operations, transportation demand management, and bicycle/pedestrian/transit improvements along Route 86 (Central Blvd.) between Industrial Ave. and north of Memorial Dr.

The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Route 86 (Central Boulevard) corridor between Industrial Avenue and north of Memorial Drive. The identified VTrans high priority needs, safety improvement, bicycle access, pedestrian access, pedestrian safety improvement, and transit access, will be the focus of the study. Additional priorities, including rail on-time performance and transportation demand management, will also be reviewed and analyzed.
