One lane of Craghead Street from Loyal Street to Newton Street will be closed beginning on Sunday to allow for sidewalk improvement to be done safely at the intersection of Craghead and Wilson streets.

Motorists traveling east on Craghead Street will be detoured onto Loyal Street and then to Lynn and Newton streets. The lane is expected to be reopened on or before Thursday.

The contractor intends to keep the westbound travel lane of Craghead Street open.

The sidewalk improvement is part of the Wilson Street streetscape project. Work includes expanding the storm drain system, improving sidewalks, and adding landscaping.

Motorists are urged to slow down and be alert to the altered traffic pattern, allow more time to reach their destination, or consider an alternate route.
