Two Danville Police Animal Control Officers were honored on Monday. Officers Ian Black and Ashley Crowder were both awarded the Emmett Edmonds Officer of the Year Award today from the Danville Area Humane Society Virginia.

The plaque reads, “Given in loving memory of Animal Control Officer Emmett Edmonds. A man who diligently served the animals. He is missed and remembered with fondness.”
