The average gas price in Virginia climbed by a penny this week to $3.42 a gallon, while the national average jumped three cents to $3.59. Averages across the southside have varied this week when compared to last week.

The average price in Danville remained unchanged at $3.23 a gallon, while the average in Pittsylvania County is up a penny to $3.33. The average price in Halifax County also increased by six cents to $3.46 a gallon.

The average price in Henry County is up a penny to $3.28; however, the average price in Martinsville dropped a nickel to $3.27 a gallon.
