God’s Pit Crew volunteers and staff are scheduled to reveal a new home on Thursday at 6:30 pm for a Tennessee family who have been displaced since the catastrophic flooding that took place in August of 2021.  This, as other God’s Pit Crew team members also travel across the country to assist other disaster victims.

God’s Pit Crew volunteers and staff have been hard at work in Nunnelly, Tennessee, rebuilding a home for the Ellis family who lost everything when massive floods swept through the region two summers ago.  The team has rebuilt, fully furnished, and affectionately decorated the new home for the Ellis family in less than two weeks – and the home comes at no cost to the family.

The volunteers and staff redeployed to Nunnelly, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 11, to the rebuilding site to begin construction of the new home and were able to complete the project in less than two weeks.  Following the initial flooding in August of 2021, God’s Pit Crew was able to provide the affected area with emergency supplies and Blessing Buckets, which are five-gallon buckets packed with non-perishable food, hygiene items, first-aid kits, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement.

“It has truly been a blessing to come back to Nunnelly and continue caring for the people who were so devastatingly impacted by the catastrophic flood waters,” said Randy Johnson, president of God’s Pit Crew.  “Our entire team can’t wait to present the Ellis family with a new home that they can find peace in after feeling so lost for the past few years.  Our work would not be possible without our amazing volunteers and donors.  Thank you to all who support God’s Pit Crew.”

Meanwhile, over 2,000 miles west of Tennessee in Pond, California, members of God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Response team are meeting with four families who were victims of catastrophic flooding in their region earlier this year.  The team is working to finalize plans on upcoming rebuilds and renovations scheduled to take place in July for four families in the affected Pond area.

In March, God’s Pit Crew responded to the flooded area by mucking out and drying homes.  The Immediate Response team also trained local volunteers in the affected area on how to respond to flooding disasters so they could continue the work.

God’s Pit Crew has served disaster victims across the country over the past several months.  As the team continues to make plans to rebuild and repair several homes in Pond, California, other members are hard at work preparing for the upcoming home builds scheduled to take place in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, this September.  These rebuilds will follow the devastating tornado outbreak that happened in late March.  Team members have also recently been onsite in Perryton, Texas, delivering and distributing much needed relief supplies following a deadly tornado outbreak.
