In a Facebook live video on Friday the Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced that the D.A.R.E. program will be returning to Henry County Schools. The program hasn’t been used in Henry County Schools for over 20 years.

D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and is a program that educates students about the dangers of drugs, violence, and more. Three officers from the sheriff’s office completed the program on Friday and will be responsible bringing the program back to all Henry County Schools.

Colonel Wayne Davis noted during the video that D.A.R.E. also now teaches anti-bullying and social media safety.
