A man who was a custodian at Chatham High School is wanted on multiple charges and is on the run. According to WSET, 41-year-old Harry Carter is wanted for possession of a firearm on school property and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

A school resource officer gave authorities a tip that led to surveillance of Carter’s vehicle and then searched it on January 30. During the search they found drugs, a 9mm handgun, and a clear liquid.

Carter hasn’t been seen since the search and is believed to be out of state on the run. At this time investigators are looking into if he sold drugs to students, adults, or anyone else. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
