Food boxes for one-thousand families in need in our area. God’s Pit Crew volunteers and staff have been working to assemble two boxes of food per family and will distribute them this coming Tuesday, October 25th, at the Martinsville Speedway.

The boxes contain 36-pounds of food, including two loaves of bread, peanut butter, canned goods including tuna, soup, and vegetables, oatmeal, mac and cheese, spaghetti sauce and noodles, paper plates and napkins, a Bible, and a devotional. Monogram Loves Kids provided the grant to help purchase the food. The community is invited to pick up two food boxes per family, plus a case of Gatorade or Propel, at this drive-through event, with a maximum of two families per car. A representative must be present from each family.

The event will happen at the Martinsville Speedway, 340 Speedway Road, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148, from 3-6 PM on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, while supplies last.To take part, enter from Business 220 onto Industrial Park Road, then turn right onto Clover Road, and follow the signs to the Food Distribution site.

God’s Pit Crew Blessing Bucket Program Director Julie Burnett says, “We’re grateful to provide these boxes of food for people in our community, especially as the holidays are approaching. We are still responding to help victims of Hurricane Ian in Florida, but we’re aware that there are many people in our local community who need a little extra help, as well. We want to thank the Martinsville Speedway for hosting this food distribution and our wonderful volunteers and donors who make this possible,” said Blessing Bucket Program Director Julie Burnett.
