A Chatham lawmaker is looking to create a “safe exchange zone” so those conducting internet sales transactions can do so in a place with security. Town Council member Matt Bell tells the Star-Tribune the area to be located in front of town hall is a public alternative to meeting in a parking lot or a rural location where something bad could possibly happen. Danville created a similar area in 2016.
