(Danville, Va.) – The Danville Area Humane Society is offering a reward for the person who threw two kittens from a moving vehicle.

Executive Director Paulette Dean says it happened around 10:00 Tuesday morning on U.S. 58, about two miles from Danville. Someone tossed the kittens out of a truck headed west into the city limits.
One of the kittens was immediately struck by another vehicle but an eyewitness rescued the other cat and brought it to the animal shelter.

The Danville Area Humane Society says the pickup was an early 2000s model blue, Ford F-150 with a decal of a Virginia Tech Hokie on the back glass.

Dean said throwing animals from a car window on a busy highway crosses the line from abandonment to cruelty and offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
