(Pittsylvania County, Va.) — The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the search Antone Hamlett, the man wanted for stabbing his estranged wife in Halifax County last week. Sheriff’s deputies were called to U.S. 29 near Greta last Tuesday, where they found a woman who’d been stabbed and Hamlett’s abandoned vehicle.

Halifax County investigators say he assaulted his wife at her home that morning and then drove to Pittsylvania County, where he left her and the car.

Investigators in Pittsylvania County have received numerous reports of suspicious persons in the area, but Hamlett has not been found. Deputies have used K-9 teams and a state police helicopter in their search and have been assisted by surrounding law enforcement agencies.
