An 11-year-old boy died after swimming in the Dan River on Tuesday. Police say the boy was last seen in the river behind a Riverside Drive business and he went underwater but didn’t resurface. A search team was in the river about 10 minutes after a call came in that the boy waws missing. They pulled him ashore and paramedics immediately started CPR. He was pronounced dead after being brought to the hospital.
