Virginia’s unemployment rate in April is unchanged rom March at 3%. Total nonfarm payroll jobs increased by 13,000. The April rate is 1.3% lower than last year. Over 19,000 more Virginians joined the labor force and the number of unemployed residents decreased by more than 1,300. Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate continues to be below the national rate which was 3.6%,
