(Bassett, Va.) — Nine people were forced out of their homes after fire consumed five buildings in Henry County Monday afternoon.

Crews responded to a call of a house fire in the 10-thousand block of Virginia Ave. in Bassett about 2:30 p.m. to a report of a house fire. Two homes, two storage buildings and an abandoned hotel were involved in the fire that authorities believe was sparked by a heat lamp in one of the homes.

Two families were displaced but and no injuries were reported.
