Human remains that were found in Rockingham County earlier this month have now been identified. On April 16th, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about human remains that were found near 101 Milestone Dr., in Summerfield.

The remains were collected and sent to the NC State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination and identification.  The remains have been identified as Harry Lee Willard of Summerfield NC. Willard was last seen on December 23, 2024, and was reported missing on January 7, 2025. 

The case is still under investigation.
