Pittsylvania County has announced the completion of the Robin Court waterline extension project. The extension is a critical infrastructure improvement that delivers safe, reliable drinking water to residents while addressing longstanding system challenges.

Robin Court Subdivision was previously served by a groundwater system that has experienced some past water quality issues.  The project provides a comprehensive, long-term solution by transitioning residents from the existing groundwater system to a more robust public water supply.

The completed project connects Robin Court residents to the Town of Chatham’s water system, providing a resilient and reliable source of drinking water. In addition to strengthening water quality, the project resolves ongoing service concerns such as sedimentation, low pressure, and discolored water. The project also provides fire protection to the area where none existed prior.

The project was made possible through a $905,000 grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), a federal initiative focused on modernizing and improving critical infrastructure nationwide, that is administered through the Virginia Department of Health’s Financial Construction Assistance Program (FCAP), which supports drinking water and wastewater projects that protect public health and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

“This project is a great improvement for the community,” said county officials. “By connecting Robin Court residents to a dependable public water system, we are improving service reliability and providing a sustainable infrastructure solution for years to come.”
