The Danville Public Schools (DPS) Graduate of Distinction program recognizes student accomplishments in five categories: academic achievement, attendance, citizenship, community service, and participation in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Students must accumulate points in each of the five areas in order to qualify. Fifty-five students from both Galileo Magnet High School and George Washington High School (GWHS) achieved this honor for the 2025-2026 academic year.

DPS recognizes the following Galileo students as Graduates of Distinction for the 2025-2026 academic year: Danilu Acevedo-Garcia, David Alexander, Essence Ballard*, Semiya Buckner, Sarah Doggett, Chloe Dorsey, Honesty Durham*, Krystie-Shiomara Eugene, Isabella Ford, Ke’Sani Harris*, Gabriel Harrison, Thomas Hungarland, Nicholas Kania, Sophia Li, Ashlyn Ligon, Zymyrah Lindsey, Nicholas Longerbeam, Iesai Miller*, Sybria Moore*, Breyonna Morrison, Faizah Naveed, Elizabeth Newell, Donnovan Perez, Piper Potts*, Kaylee Salazar, Serena Shroff*, Sila Takbir*, Amirah Warner, Sasha Whittle* and Lorelei Wray.

DPS recognizes the following GWHS students as Graduates of Distinction for the 2025-2026 academic year: Braelynn Adams, Christian Breakley*, Aidan Byrd-Hudgins*, Ry-Honna Crisco*, Dallas Dietz*, Jackson Dietz*, Jordynn Edmunds*, Joshua Gunter*, Victor Ingram, LaPriannah Keen*, Bernard Leigg*, Franklin Leigg*, Ja’zarra Logan, Antonio Matos, Jhaniya McCollum*, Katorah Montague*, Lyric Moore*, Kobe Morrison, Shanya Myers*, Shamieya Stone*, Serenity Taylor*, Tikiiya Thomas*, Ja’Nyiah Titus, Nyla Walters* and Caleb Wilkes*.

These students were recognized at an event on April 20. The event also recognized the top eight Graduates of Distinction with the highest GPAs, which included Braelynn Adams, Semiya Buckner, Franklin Leigg, Sophia Li, Ja’zarra Logan, Iesai Miller, Kobe Morrison, and Faizah Naveed.

Through scholarships provided by the Danville Public Schools Education Foundation and their donors, each Graduate of Distinction will receive a scholarship.
