The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors have approved a real estate tax rate for the FY27 budget. County Staff had proposed an increase from 56 cents per $100 of assessed value to 66 cents, but that proposal was voted down.

Ultimately the board settled on a rate of 62 cents per $100 of assessed value. The board also voted to keep the Solid Waste Household Fee at $120 annually, despite staff recommending to raise the price to $200 annually.

Staff had wanted to raise the rate to generate additional revenue to support the cost of solid waste operations, including collection, disposal, and maintenance.
