One man was injured and authorities are looking for a suspect following a shooting in Henry County early Saturday morning. Just before 5 am the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to 5269 Mitchell Road in Ridgeway for a report of a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival deputies found 51-year-old Shannon Bryant with a gunshot wound to the back. Bryant was transported to SOVAH Health Martinsville and is in stable condition.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Timothy Brian Howell (43) came to the residence of 5269 Mitchell Road, in the early morning hours. Shortly after Howell arrived at the residence, an altercation occurred between Howell and Bryant. During the altercation Howell produced a firearm and shot Bryant one time. Howell fled the scene shortly after the incident.

Warrants have been issued for Timothy Brian Howell (43) of Kernersville, NC for the following:

18.2-51 Malicious Wounding

18.2-53.1 Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony

18.2-308.2 Possession for a Firearm by a convicted Felony
