The Danville Police Department has announced that the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will host a webinar on Feb 7 at 2 pm as a part of safer internet day. The purpose is to help parents start the conversation with their children about safe internet practices.

The webinar was put together to help combat sextortion scams where victims can be pressured to send explicit content or money. These threats can cause shame, fear, and confusion and have led some victims to suicidal behaviors.

This presentation will identify tactics used to target victims and will focus on awareness and preventive messaging to help provide protective factors for youth. To sign up for the webinar click here.
