Three people were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Halifax County Tuesday morning, according to The Gazette-Virginian. The wreck occurred on U.S. 360 at 6:40.

According to Virginia State Police, the vehicle ran off the side of the road, over-corrected, ran off of the left side, overturned several times, and struck a tree in the median. Two of the three victims were pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to Halifax Regional and was pronounced dead there.

The victims appear to be affiliated with the IEA solar group and were working on the solar farm project in Halifax. Police are still working to identify all three victims.

Update:

The three men that were killed in the crash have been identified. The driver was Francisco J. Chavez, 19, of San Benito, Texas.

A passenger was identified as Victor H. Mata, 20, of Mission, Texas. The other passenger was identified as Joaquin Chavez Jr., 20, of San Benito, Texas.

Excessive speed is expected is a possible contributing factor in the wreck. The crash is still under investigation.
