Animal shelters in Virginia saved more than 98,000 lives last year according to a report from Best Friend’s Animal Society. WTVR reports that’s an increse from 2020 and ranks Virginia’s save rate at just over 86%. Over 80 of the Commonwealth’s 143 shelters have no-kill policies. The only places in the United States which have a 100% no-kill policy are Delaware and New Hampshire.
