DANVILLE, Va. – A granddaughter and her boyfriend face charges in the death of the girl’s 88-year-old grandmother in Danville.

Danville police found 88-year-old Elizabeth Adkins dead in her home in the 300 block of Juless Street Sunday morning.

On Monday, investigators charged Lindsey Mae Johnson, Adkins’ 24-year-old granddaughter, and Nicasio Antonio Guzman, Johnson’s 22-year-old boyfriend, on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with Adkins’ death.

The couple live in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area, where the local police department is assisting with the investigation.

Danville police said investigators are unable to provide a motive at this time.

Police are continuing their investigation, with additional charges possible.
