PITTYSLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – One person died in a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Pittsylvania County.

Virginia State Police responded to the wreck at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8. The crash occurred on Cane Creek Parkway at Morgan Olson Way, near the intersection with Tom Fork Road, and involved a tractor-trailer and a car. The impact of the crash caused the car and trailer of the semi-truck to catch fire. The sedan was heavily damaged and ended up lodged under the trailer.

There was one fatality but the deceased’s name has not been released at this time. State police released no information about whether there were passengers in either vehicle or if there were other injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
