RIDGEWAY, Va. – An autopsy on a Henry County woman found dead in her home Wednesday morning showed no obvious signs of homicide, but the exact cause of her death remains a mystery.

57-year-old Catherine Evans McDaniel was found dead inside her Staples Avenue home in Ridgeway as deputies conducted a well-being check. There were no signs of a struggle or forced entry at the residence.

While the preliminary autopsy results gave no indication of foul play, the complete report will be pending toxicology and additional testing.

The cause and manner of death are undetermined at this time.
