(Danville, Va.) – Danville Police have arrested one of two men they say stabbed a Virginia Avenue resident during a home invasion last weekend.

27-year-old Amir Jaleel Waters was taken into custody Thursday and charged with burglary, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Investigators are still working to identify the second suspect in the case.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Virginia Avenue around 9 p.m. Saturday, May 11and found a 34-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. The victim told investigators that two men forced their way through the back door of the home and stabbed him.

He was transported to SOVAH Health in Danville, then transferred to another medical facility.
