(Lynchburg, VA) – A printing company that has been in operation in Lynchburg for decades will be closing up shop later this year.  LSC Communications made employees aware during their shifts Tuesday that the Lynchburg facility would be closing.  The plant currently employees close to 500 people and according to reports will be estimated to close in June.

The LSC site formerly owned by RR Donnelly, opened with two printing presses in 1971 and expanded to as many as eight print lines during its operation.  Offerings included catalogs, magazines and political mailers.  The local Human Resources department confirmed the closure, but referred questions to the corporate office in Chicago.
