(Summerville, S.C.) – A Caswell County  truck driver died in a wreck Tuesday in South Carolina.

58-year-old Keith Angelo Poole, who lived in southeastern Caswell County, died at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, S.C., as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.

The wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, when a 1999 international tractor trailer, traveling eastbound, ran off the left side of Interstate 26 and hit a guardrail near mile marker 177. The accident occurred about 40 miles southeast of Columbia and 10 miles east of I-95.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated and said it is not known whether Poole was wearing a seat belt.
