(Randleman, N.C.) — The search for a 7-month-old baby abducted from Danville Sunday ended happily today.

The infant was located in Randleman, North Carolina and authorities say Emma Grace Kennedy was unharmed. Her father and alleged abductor, Carl Ray Kennedy, was also found. Kennedy, 52, was found at a trailer home park on Summerset Road just north of Randleman in Randolph County, N.C.

Emma was taken to an area hospital for examination but appeared to be fine. Authorities have notified her mother.

The amber alert issued earlier has been canceled.

On Sunday, June 3, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Emma Grace Kennedy was abducted from the Kwik Mart located at 4912 Riverside Drive (Route 58) in Danville. The abduction occurred after Carl Ray Kennedy assaulted the victim’s mother.

Kennedy is a convicted sex offender from Asheboro, N.C. He was free on a $250,000 bond on drug charges at the time of the kidnapping.
