(Danville, Va.) – Pittsylvania County is continuing to recover from the aftermath of the destruction that was a result of the Severe Storm that produced damage to the community and surrounding areas Sunday, April 15th.

Power restoration efforts are ongoing in portions of the county with reports of new damage locations continuously being reported.

Two feeder circuits of the Westover substation remain out of service. The two feeders serve 1,700 customers, including Westover Drive from Piedmont Drive to beyond Linden Lane and Riverside Drive from Piedmont Drive to Parkway Drive.

Multiple crews are working to remove fallen trees and repair lines. The goal is to re-energize the feeders to restore power service later today; however, some circumstances may delay the restoration of power for some customers.
