Danville, Va – A Ringgold woman is being held in the Danville jail without bond in the death of her newborn son last year.  25-year-old Vanessa Danielle Poteat is charged with first-degree murder in the drowning death of her baby on June 12, 2016.  Police were called to a Schoolfield Drive home that morning.  They found the baby’s remains in a duffel bag. Poteat was arrested on Monday.
