Danville, Va – A Danville newspaper carrier was robbed at gunpoint this morning.  Police were called to the 100 block of Brentwood Drive just before 3:30 this morning.  That’s where the victim told them he was sitting in his parked vehicle when a young black man walked up and asked for a light for his cigarette.  Before the victim could respond, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money.  The victim gave him a small amount and the robber fled toward Northmont Boulevard in a white Nissan sedan with 30-day temporary tags.  The suspect is described as early to mid-20’s, clean shaven, wearing a dark hoodie and a ball cap.  The victim told police he heard a gunshot as the robber drove away, but he was not injured.
