Danville Science Center’s popular Science After Dark program has a new night! Start every month with a unique astronomy-filled experience at the Danville Science Center every first Friday of the month from 5:30pm – 9pm.
Start every month with a unique astronomy-filled experience at the Danville Science Center. Watch Astronomy based movies and Live Sky planetarium shows in our Digital Dome Theater. Participate in special creative hands-on activities in our lobby. Gaze into the vast expanse of the solar system and beyond through our telescopes, glimpsing the strange and beautiful worlds of other planets, moons, galaxies and other distant objects.
This month, we will have the Southern Virginia Dark Sky Observatory visiting the Danville Science Center, so make sure to check out its instrument and imaging capabilities. In preparation for the August Solar Eclipse, our lobby activities will focus on eclipses, how they occur, and what we can learn from them. If weather permits, we will be able to view surface features of the Sun, as well as Jupiter and Saturn after the sun sets.
