The Danville Police Department congratulates the 11 new officers for graduating from Entry Level Law Enforcement Session No. 32 with the Piedmont Regional Justice Training Academy Friday, during a ceremony held at the New College Institute in Martinsville. Earning awards from the Department were as follows:

Firearms Award:

1st Place with a perfect score: Officer Matthew Donegan-Cheney

3rd Place with a score of 99.7%: Officer Steven Dennis

Physical Training Award:

Top Male: Officer Qadir Ferguson

Top Female: Officer Hailey Sanchez

President’s Award:

Presented to the student elected to represent the student body: Officer Matthew Donegan-Cheney

Officer Donegan-Cheney also presented Danville Police Department Sergeant Chase Shively with one of the two instructor’s awards on behalf of the student body. Officer Donegan-Chaney delivered a speech reminding graduates to know where your home is, and remember to go there.
