Two people were injured in a crash in Gretna on Saturday afternoon. At noon Gretna Fire and Rescue was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident on the Gretna Bypass. 

Upon arrival it was determined to be a two vehicle accident with an entrapment. Extrication was completed and the patient was turned over to Life Guard 12 for transport.

 US 29 Northbound was shutdown for 40 minutes during the extrication and helicopter landing and takeoff. Two patients were transported from the scene.

The vehicle accident is under investigation by Virginia State Police.
